New Zealand Travel Insurance – sweet as.

Heading across the ditch?  Check out our suggestions for an awesome time -

Tandem skydive over Queenstown/Lake Wakatipu, taking off from the Skyline Gondola, for breathtaking mountain scenery. For a fast adrenaline hit, try thrillseeking Shotover Jetboats with 360-degree turns and wild canyon rides. Or there’s Shotover Canyon Swing for the real adventurers - the world's highest cliff jump. Freefall 60m past rocky cliff faces into the canyon before the ropes swoop you into a 200m giant swing at 150kph.  Go!!

Check out our Adventure Travel Pack add-on for people who like a wilder ride – it provides cover for many travel activities that mainstream travel insurance doesn’t

Check out Fishbone in Queenstown for the best locally sourced South Island fish.  Or there’s Sunflower Thai Vegetarian Restaurant on Auckland Centre for authentic food at reasonable prices. For great coffee, Café L’Affarre in Wellington – for their own authentic roast, plus amazing brunches.

It’s not all Middle Earth - Wellington has a lively Arts scene with a thriving café culture.  Plus there’s the Queenstown Winterfest in June – a mix of winter sports, comedy, street parties and fireworks.  Coromandel has a vibrant Maori arts scene, with many artists welcoming visits to their studios and selling their creations at local weekend markets.

Night Life

Best places to party – The Viaduct, Auckland – check out Soul Bar, The Loaded Hog, or Parnell. Courtenay Place and Queens Wharf in Wellington for dedicated after-dark partying. Night skiing in Queenstown followed by a beer at the Naughty Penguin – magic.

Travel Insurance

Don’t forget travel insurance if you’re heading east.  Even though New Zealand is pretty safe and you’re close to home, sometimes the unexpected happens.  Cover yourself against accidents or losses with our standard travel insurance options or, for the hard-core heroes, there’s an optional Adventure Pack add-on.  If you’re planning on a snow trip, we also have a Snow Pack that may provide cover if you can’t get a run because of bad weather, lose your gear, or have to cancel your trip due to injury.
